“Plain or fancy Greek restaurants dot DC’s culinary landscape, but this
Kentlands place gets it right.” — Gayot.com

“Vasilis hasn’t sunk into the pit of mediocrity that Greek restaurants seem
to gravitate to.” — Food-Plan.org

"We tried Vasilis because of the reviews here on Trip Advisor and were so happy we did!! It was the best meal and service we have had in Gaithersburg in a long time. Everything from the hummus appetizer to the scrumptious Greek custard dessert was amazing. We had a delicious Greek salad and the Mediterranean sea bass special--both excellent. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, which set the tone for the evening--not a disinterested teenager that one usually encounters. Our waiter was exemplary, attentive but never intrusive or annoying. The place is laid back, but you can tell that they take pride in their service and perfectly prepared dishes. Try it--you won't be disappointed!!!" — savvyduo

"We don't cook much in my house and one reason is that we live near Vasili's Mediterranean Grill at 353 Main St in the Kentlands. This is a true family restaurant (the owners live in the townhome above the restaurant) and the service shows it. Meals are Greek and Mediterranean -- many first-time visitors focus on traditional Greek items but the entire menu is delicious including the local crab cakes and the scallops. Nightly specials are excellent. Desserts are home made -- fruit pies, cream pies, and Greek specialties. The appetizer menu was recently expanded -- the calamari and the roasted feta are some favorites. Whether you are having a gyro or a striped bass special, you will come away happy." — misternhh

"Tried it a couple weeks ago when I visited my brother in Gaithersburg, staff and service was wonderful. Got to sit outside with my friends. People go to Vasilis for the layed back atmosphere and good food. They definately cover those aspects. The people there are friendly and the deserts..."delish". They will continue to do well and stay busy because of how they do business." — katie_frederick

"Great value and great food. Great kids menu. The total bill for two adults and four kids was around $50. The chef/owner took time to introduce himself and recommend selections on the menu. I am a vegetarian and was delighted with the orzo pasta with feta and the fresh spinach. My wife tried the kabob and was very pleased. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Would highly recommend because of the great flavors, value, and personal attention." — PeterKimbis

This place is unbelievable. The food is the best!!!!! The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. You feel like part of the family when you are here and feel like your leaving home when you get ready to leave. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Try the Dolomathakia, it is soooooooo good. — Nena

This "family owned" restaurant is truly a special place. If you like cozy little places, wonderful services, and fresh ORGANIC foods, this is the place to be. During the summer they have live music (outside) and the owners are amazing. I know them personally, and I can tell you they put A LOT of time and effort in this place. It's good to know places like that still exist! :) — Dr. T
